Pals refers to pets as animals, loved ones, companions, best friends, family members, and soulmates. This platform offers gentle, grounded support for those experiencing the painful grief of losing a beloved animal companion. In honoring the sensitivity of each person’s emotions, pals keeps heavy memorials and triggering imagery to a minimum. Our goal is to maintain a peaceful on-line resource where compassionate guidance and healing support is serene and self-paced.

Dear Pal: A Note About Our Grassroots Mission

Founder Lisa’s agonizing loss of her soulmate dog Tickles in 2024, and her inability to find reliable, consistent support for animal loss grief, led her into a year of healing through trauma therapy, daily writing, envisioning, and creating this genuine, heartfelt platform for all of us. Every moment of comfort and every word that resonates here, flows from Lisa's broken heart.

Pals guides were written by Lisa over hundreds of quiet, tear-filled hours, with professional advice from therapists and grief counselors, as she questioned whether the subject of animal loss was too overwhelming to take on. At times, she wasn’t sure she could even complete them. But she followed the call to provide a healing portal that arose from the love of Tickles, with empathy for everyone facing the devastating loss of their beloved animals.

This platform is an independent offering. Therefore, we appreciate respect for the originality, vulnerability, and spiritual intention that continues to shape this work.
